If you search Google for “dog saliva” you will be surprised from the results, many people try to deceive you saying:
"Dog saliva kills bacteria"
"Dog saliva is The Next Wonder Drug"
"Dog saliva is cleaner than human saliva"
"Dogs' mouths are cleaner than humans’"
"The Amazing Healing Power of Dog Saliva"
“Kissing dog lips is saver than kissing a person's lips"
"Dog saliva is a common remedy for wounds, infections and injuries"
All these are false claims according to the following facts:
Fact 1: Recent medical researches discovered more than 15 dangerous deadly bacterial, parasitic, viral and fungal diseases which can be carried by dogs and may be transmitted and infect human. Expanded explanations of these diseases here:

Fact 2: Believe or not: The prophet Mohammad referred to that dangerous of dog saliva 1400 years ago: ((The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The purification of the utensil belonging to any one of you, after it is licked by a dog, lies in washing it seven times, using sand for the first time)).

Fact 3: Do you know why Mohammad (peace be upon him) preferred the water washing and sand to purify the dog saliva? To remove the sticky dog saliva, you need water and a rough wiper, even sandpaper. To purify an alkaline substance you have to neutralize it by other neutral substance like water.
Fact 4: (The pH value “Hydrogen ion concentration” is an indication to alkalinity-acidity) A pH of 7 is neutral, while a pH less than 7 is acidic, and a pH greater than 7 is alkaline. Water should be as close to pH 7 as possible.

Fact 6: Dog's saliva is less acid than man's one with a pH of ~9 whereas a human has a saliva pH range of between 6.5 to 7.5.
